Catouches are traditional Egyptian name plates. This vintage pendant turned ring has three hieroglyphics etched into the metal plate.
The first symbol, the Ankh is the key of life, the balance of life and death, the balance of woman and man.
The second symbol is a combination of two, the DJew meaning mountain, the symbol suggests two peaks with the Nile valley in the middle. The Egyptians believed that there was a cosmic mountain range that held up the heavens.
The third symbol is a chair back, often distinguishing and entreprenaur.
